Wieners By The Sea
Honestly, when the president of Atlantic Canadian Dachshund Rescue reached out to me about photographing their event in Shediac, NB in August, my first inclination was to say “no”. I don’t usually photograph events, but this one was called “Wieners By The Sea”, which tickled me, and it was for a good cause, plus there would be lots of adorable wiener dogs, so I was intrigued. Then I learned that there would be a costume contest, wiener races, a watermelon eating contest, as well as contests for the longest wiener and shortest wiener. It sounded like an event that would be too much fun to miss, so I was sold! 🌭🤣

The fundraising event was a huge success, raising over $1500 for Atlantic Canadian Dachshund Rescue from bets on the races, watermelon eating contest, longest and shortest wiener contests, hotdog stand, silent auction, and duck pond. Attendance was amazing. I don’t think anyone was keeping track, but there had to have been over 100 dachshunds there at the peak of the event.
