Cooper the Boxer's Fall Photos in Hillsborough
The muted gold autumn marsh grass in Hillsborough made a perfect backdrop for a brindle boxer like Cooper.
Lucky boxer Cooper is loved by the owners of the Pet Valu in Riverview! If you’ve ever been there, you may have seen the top right portrait hanging proudly behind the checkout counter.
Late autumn was the perfect time for this session because the reeds and marsh grasses had turned gold and brown, making a beautiful, muted background for his brindle colouring.
We chose the marsh in Hillsborough initially because Cooper can be a bit reactive with other dogs, so we wanted a quiet location, but it couldn’t have been a better choice!
Above: The mockup I made so that Cooper’s family could see how his portrait would look, to scale in the Riverview Pet Valu store. Right: The amazing detail of his finished wall art.
The many adorable faces of a boxer in action!
Floppy-faced dogs like bulldogs and boxers make for the best, most hilarious running shots! So many fabulous faces! Looking at these photos will be guaranteed to make Cooper’s family smile, even on the worst of days.
The marsh in Hillsborough is one of my favourite session locations because there are so many cute little bridges and potential backgrounds all within a few minutes of each other.
As you can see from these photos, Cooper’s head tilt game was STRONG. Perhaps the strongest I’ve seen! Most of the time, we’re lucky to get one or two good head tilts with a new sound, but the dogs get accustomed quickly and it doesn’t have the same power anymore. Not Cooper! He cocked his head inquisitively pretty much every time I used my noisemakers.
You can just see the colourful huts of the Artisan’s Village in Hillsborough in the background of the lefthand photo above.
Cooper posing in front of an epic pink and purple sunset.
We were fortunate to have a brilliant sunset towards the end of Cooper’s session, and he was happy to cooperate and pose in front of it! The lighting, colours, and tones in these images somehow remind me of old, classic paintings
Here’s a mockup I made of Cooper in an ornate gold frame, hanging above a fireplace in a fancy parlour, like a classic painting.
The similar tones in this set of images would look amazing as a gallery wall. I love having to tools to help my clients design artwork displays like this that will suit their homes.
It all starts with a phone call to start planning your pet’s custom session experience!
