I Spoke In Public, And I Did Not Die

Nor did I suck! (At least, not according to the many kind people who approached me afterwards to tell me so).

This is kind of huge, and I share it because I know so many of you feel the same about public speaking. I’m trying really hard to get past it, because sometimes it even makes it difficult speaking to clients, or networking when I’m out and about. To that end, I agreed almost a year ago to speak to the Focus Camera Club in Moncton about Pet Photography. Then, in a burst of overconfidence, temporary insanity, and possibly too much wine, I also agreed to speak at the Professional Photographers of Canada - Atlantic Region Spring Seminar, 3 days after my other presentation!

It was all really far in the future, so it wasn’t scary at all…until the dates approached, and then it got real in a hurry. I even joined my local Toastmasters Club, in hopes that it would help (it did, and I’m going to keep on going).

Here’s to more public speaking in the future!
