2021 Pets of the Year
Congratulations to chocolate Newfoundland dogs Rosco, Daisy and Little Lulu, the winners of my first Pet of the Year contest! I couldn’t be more pleased that these 3 won. They are kind of local celebrities in Moncton, and Mom Stacey Butler is the most devoted pet parent you could imagine.

2021 Highlights
While 2021 has certainly had its challenges, it still turned out to be a pretty great year for Tracy Munson Photography.
My Tails of the Chocolate River book project raised over $2500 for the Greater Moncton SPCA, and my 2022 Calendar Contest raised an additional $6500! (That’s not even counting any profits from the calendar sales).
The best part was getting to meet and photograph so many awesome dogs and other furry (and feathered, and scaled, and quilled) friends.

Photographic Artist of the Year for the 4th Year In A Row
Well, I did it again! I’m Atlantic Canada’s Photographic Artist of the Year for the fourth year in a row. I also took home Best in Class for Animals, Fine Art, and Conceptual Illustration, the Bruce Berry Award for Best General Print, and a couple of Judge’s Choice Awards!

2022 Calendar Contest Fundraiser for the Greater Moncton SPCA
We’ve just wrapped up the Pet Photo Contest for the Greater Moncton SPCA’s 2022 Calendar, and it was a huge success! After contest admin and payment processing fees, we raised a whopping $6533.77 for the shelter - and that number is sure to grow once the actual calendar sales are added in.

Image Manipulation Accreditation
Ok, this was probably the most fun I’ve had putting together an accreditation submission so far. This week, a panel of judges from the Professional Photographers of Canada accepted my Image Manipulation accreditation with an overall score of “very good”.

Animals Accreditation
I am pleased to announce that I have received my 9th Accreditation from the Professional Photographers of Canada, in Animals, with an overall score of “very good”. These are the 10 successful images.

National Best In Class for Animals!
This is only the second national Best in Class I’ve received from PPOC, so it’s a really big deal for me. (The first was for my Pictorial/Floral image “Sunset Paddle” in 2017). The Animals category is extremely competitive and includes wildlife as well as domestic animals, so it’s such a great honour to win against some of the best pet AND wildlife photographers in the country!

Tails of the Chocolate River Registration Full
My plan was to keep the registration for my Tails of the Chocolate River book project open for 2 weeks. I was really hoping to have at least 30 pets to feature in the book. Well, pet lovers in Moncton, Albert County, and as far away as Miramichi and Saint John blew those numbers out of the water! Within 5 days, I had to close the registration portal, as I already had 46 pet lovers register well over 60 pets! This book is going to be awesome!

First Place in Animal Image Makers
My portrait of a Polish Crested rooster titled “Walk This Way” won first place in the Other Domestic Animals category of the Animal Image Makers international competition! Can you see a bit of Steven Tyler in him?
