For as long as I can remember, my life has revolved around caring for companion animals and nurturing the bonds they share with their human families - first as a vet tech, now as a pet photographer. This blog is where I will feature my fave pet photo sessions, share pet tips - including how to take better photos of your own pet, home decor and pet photo display ideas, news, updates, special events, and probably a lot of rambling about dogs and how awesome they are.

2021 Pet Friendly Moncton Calendars Available Now!
The 2021 Pet-Friendly Moncton Calendars are finally available, and they look pretty great if I do say so. The calendar features dogs enjoying themselves at local, pet-friendly businesses like Global Pet Foods NB, Luv Paws Grooming and Bakery, Canvas Hotel, April Saulnier’s Dog Training, Pump House Fill Station, Shediac Paddle Shack, Euston Park Social, Magnetic Hill Wharf Village, Tire Shack Brewing Co., Simply For Life Riverview, and Art Shack. All profits from the sales of the calendars go directly to the Greater Moncton SPCA.
2020 Photographic Artist of the Year
I’m still a little stunned to announce that I have won the title of Professional Photographers of Canada Atlantic Region Photographic Artist of the Year for third year in a row! In addition, I also took home the Bruce Berry Award for Best General Print, 3 Best in Class Awards in the Fine Art, Pictorial/Floral, and Animals categories, AND all 3 of those images were selected for Judge’s Choice ribbons as well.
Pre-order the Shop Local/Pet Friendly Moncton 2021 Calendar
I’ve been having a blast, photographing dogs and discovering new pet-friendly locations around Moncton this past couple of months. This year’s calendar fundraiser for the Greater Moncton SPCA is really shaping up to be something special. You can pre-order a copy for pick up at the Moncton SPCA here.
Fine Art and Nature Accreditations
I’m so happy to announce that I have achieved 2 more accreditations through the Professional Photographers of Canada. In this round of judging, I received my Fine Art/Photo Decor and Nature Photography Accreditations, bringing my total up to 8!
My Craftsman of Photographic Arts Designation (CPA)
I’m so excited to announce that I have received my Craftsman of Photographic Arts designation (CPA) from the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC).
This designation is awarded based on a system of merit points earned through successful accreditations, having images perform well in the National Image Competition and voluntary service to the organization. So far, in less than 5 years, I have achieved 6 accreditations, have had 14 images score Accepted or higher in our National Image Competition, and have volunteered in a number of ways, not least of which serving on the Board of Directors in the Atlantic Region.
$810 Raised For Australian Wildlife
The Paws for Oz Fundraiser at Global Pet Foods in Moncton was a huge success, raising $810 to help wildlife in Australia. To date, the worldwide initiative has raised over $18,000 and still counting! I’m so proud that I was able to do my little bit to help out and so grateful to all the wonderful pet parents who donated.
Photographic Artist of the Year 2019
I was so deeply honoured to win the title of Photographic Artist of the Year in the Professional Photographers of Canada - Atlantic Region Image Competition for the second year in a row. I also received the Best Animal award for my portrait of a bear in Kouchiboujouac National Park, titled “Bear Necessity”, and the Best Fine Art Award for my image “Reclaimed Wood”, of a well know abandoned house in Shepody, NB. My winning entry was completed by “The B’ys By the Bay”, a portrait of 3 Newfoundland dogs, and “Lobster Fleet Launch”, showing fireworks over the lobster boats in Alma, NB.
The GMSPCA 2020 Treat Toss Calendar Fundraiser
On September 15, 2019 we held a Treat Toss Calendar Fundraiser for the Greater Moncton SPCA during their PawsWalk Event in Centennial Park. All around, the day was a huge success, with the calendar sessions and pre-order sales reaching over $1000 before we even have any calendars printed to sell! The PawsWalk raised another $7000+, so altogether a very successful day for the GMSPCA.
I Spoke In Public, And I Did Not Die
Nor did I suck! (At least, not according to the many kind people who approached me afterwards to tell me so).
This is kind of huge, and I share it because I know so many of you feel the same about public speaking. I’m trying really hard to get past it, because sometimes it even makes it difficult speaking to clients, or networking when I’m out and about. To that end, I agreed almost a year ago to speak to the Focus Camera Club in Moncton about Pet Photography. Then, in a burst of overconfidence, temporary insanity, and possibly too much wine, I also agreed to speak at the Professional Photographers of Canada - Atlantic Region Spring Seminar, 3 days after my other presentation!
My Images In 2 Exhibitions In Shediac
Three of my favourite images are currently on display in an exhibition featuring 12 artists who are accredited members of the Professional Photographers of Canada, Atlantic Region. This was a juried exhibit, which means that the images that were included were selected by a panel of trained judges from out of province. I’m so proud to be included, and also that 2 of my 3 images are the only pet portraits included in the exhibit!
